As an avid technology enthusiast, I received my PhD in English (Rhetoric and Composition) from Southern Illinois University with research in developing and delivering mobile learning technologies for composition classrooms and writing centers. My projects focus on questions of how we can bring mobile devices out of pockets and into writing programs in meaningful ways, as well as how this technology challenges and shapes both pedagogy and contemporary forms of writing and reading.
My interests span mobile learning, intersections of rhetorical theory, rhetoric and technology, and User Experience (UX) studies. I currently teach the SAGES Departmental Seminar “Professional Communication for Engineers” (ENGL 398). I also enjoy racquet and ice sports and exploring Cleveland’s wonderful arts and culture scene.
