Denise Polverine is an accomplished media professional with extensive experience in journalism, leadership and digital media. She currently serves as the Vice President and Publisher at Cleveland Magazine, where she oversees the iconic brand across all platforms, driving revenue growth, focusing on audience engagement, and working closely with the editorial team as they produce high-quality content.
Her previous roles include Director of Digital Strategy and News at WKYC TV 3, where she managed a large team of content producers, reporters, and talent. She played a crucial role in developing digital and social strategies, creating engaging content, and driving audience growth. Denise was also a member of TEGNA’s Sports Leadership and Inclusive Journalism Teams, highlighting her commitment to diversity and innovation in journalism.
At cleveland.com, Denise transitioned from Editor-in-Chief to Director of Digital Operations and Content, leading the site to national recognition. Her work involved managing digital editorial content, working closely with The Plain Dealer newsroom, and building strong third-party relationships.
Denise holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Cleveland State University. She is a four-time Emmy Award-winner and has also been inducted into the Journalism Hall of Fame by the Press Club of Cleveland in 2018 as its first ‘Digital Pioneer.’ She has served on various boards, including the United Way of Greater Cleveland, The Gathering Place, Cleveland Arts Prize and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio. Denise is a proud graduate of Cleveland Bridge Builders, Class of 2006, and Leadership Cleveland, Class of 2008.
