Maximum Award: $100.
This grant is in memory of Charles E. Kosinski, generously donated by his wife Paula and son Christian. It is available to undergraduates working on film and media English capstones and other English course-related projects. Applications can range from research projects requiring travel, interviewing subjects, and visiting archives, to fiction and documentary video productions.
Eligibility: Stipends are available to undergraduates in English courses at Case Western Reserve University. Awards do not impact students’ financial aid.
Reporting: Stipends will be paid in one payment. Awardees are required to 1) produce a final report (2 pages in length) at their project’s completion; and 2) send an email of thanks to Paula and Christian Kosinski, care of robert.spadoni@case.edu—in which, if there is a finished video project, PowerPoint presentation, or other sharable result of the funding assistance, the recipient includes a link to it along with the words of thanks.
Application Deadline: Applications are reviewed and accepted on a rolling basis through the last day of the academic calendar year.
To apply, submit a PDF file in which you include the date, your name, and the following information about the class: department, course number, semester and year, and instructor.
Include in this PDF:
-
A one-page statement in which you describe the project and how the funding will help you complete it
-
A project budget
-
Your resume
-
A letter of support from the course instructor. This can be brief (and it is okay if it is a separate file).
Send all materials in one PDF attachment to Susan Grimm at sxd290@case.edu.
